Hardwood F17 sawn unseasoned treated step tread in 250 x 50mm is a high-strength hardwood stair tread supplied green (not kiln-dried) and preservative treated for durable stair construction and external access applications. The F17 stress grade suits load-bearing stair treads where hardwood strength is required, and the sawn finish allows trade trimming and detailing on site. Unseasoned hardwood will shrink and move as it dries, so allow for checking and maintain consistent fixing and support spacing. Use treated-compatible fixings, pre-drill near ends, and seal any cut edges to maintain durability.
