Installation and Care

The door, lockset and hinges are supplied as separate components for professional machining, fitting and installation. The package is not supplied pre-hung, pre-drilled or pre-machined.

Lock and lever preparations must be positioned within the door's reinforced stile or lock block. Before machining, confirm the handing, opening direction, backset, frame clearances and final hardware position.

The door must be correctly sealed, finished and maintained in accordance with Hume's instructions. Seal all faces and edges, including the top, bottom and every machined opening, immediately after fitting. Exterior doors require a correctly weather-sealed frame and suitable overhead protection from direct weather exposure.

Important: Professional installation is recommended. Confirm the door frame, handing, opening direction, clearances, exposure conditions and lock-block position before machining. Door frame, jamb, sill, weather seals, finishing products and installation fasteners are not included.

The Hume door and Lockwood hardware are covered by their respective manufacturer warranties, subject to correct installation, finishing, use and maintenance. Failure to seal every door surface or provide adequate exterior weather protection may affect the Hume warranty. Lockwood warranty coverage is subject to the applicable product terms and exclusions.
