Merbau beam F27 solid KD is a kiln-dried structural merbau member supplied in large beam sections for heavy load-bearing applications where stability and more consistent moisture content are important. The F27 stress grade is specified for major structural members to design, and kiln drying helps reduce movement compared with unseasoned timber for more predictable straightness and set-out across both medium and large beam sizes. Merbau is a dense hardwood, so pre-drilling is recommended for bolts and heavy connectors to minimise splitting and checking. Use corrosion-resistant, merbau-compatible fixings (stainless steel preferred, especially in external or exposed situations), seal cut ends after trimming, and store dry, supported and flat prior to installation to maintain moisture balance.
